The information provided only serves purpose to sending out material packs for the workshop. Your email will be kept to share future opportunities, unless you request to be taken off our mailing list.

This session is open to anyone interested, you must be 14-30 years. You must live in Doncaster due to delivery of materials. You do not need to be an artist nor have previous artistic experience. Join along to learn and have some fun. There are only 20 spaces, so book now!

Join Ana Kerin, founder of Kana London, for an interactive pottery session, including an insight into her career journey.

"Kana London was born fortuitously as a result of my training in sculpture & my background in fine art, eventually becoming a fully developed project in London in 2012.

Sculpting and an affinity for working with clay led me to wanting to apply the principles of my art work - the tactile, hand built aesthetics, the traces of my fingerprints and hands on the surface -  into functional ceramics.

My approach to work is experimental and playful, as I never follow a procedure, and invent new recipes daily. I work with a unique mixture of clays and mix my own glazes, often turning my back on traditional ceramic practice. Hand building, rather than turning on the wheel, further emphasizes the individuality of each piece.

All of my work is: stoneware, food safe glazed, made from durable materials & suitable for use in the oven & dish washer (though, as with any precious ceramics, I'd advise hand washing & to avoid frequent oven use)."

This session is interactive and you will be able to discuss and ask questions.

Ana will start the session by briefly talking about her experience and journey to building Kana London, including a short Q&A.

The latter part of the session, Ana will be guiding you to create and design your own pinch pot using air-drying clay that we will provide you with.

You do not need any previous experience to do this workshop.

We will be providing you with airdrying clay and a tool kit.
